DBKL to charge foreigners for free GoKL shuttle and make Malaysians register. Why?

Go - KL City Bus

This is a convenient FREE bus service with circular routes in the heart of the city. DBKL had mooted charging foreigners for bus rides previously after it was estimated that 45 per cent of those using the service were foreigners. Malaysian citizens must register their MyKad to use the bus rides for free. All children age 12 and below may ride the bus for free,” DBKL said in a statement.

Free Tram Zone | Melbourne CBD

Travel on all trams is free in Melbourne's Central Business District and Docklands. A ticket is not required. All stops within the free zone are clearly marked and tram drivers will make regular announcements when approaching the zone boundaries. If your tram journey is exclusively within the zone, travel is free. Visitors & Tourists do not need to purchase a MYKI card to travel within the Central Business District of Melbourne.

Comment.

DBKL has got to decide what they want to do. Provide a free bus service within DBKL or not. They have a Free Tram Zone in the Melbourne CBD area. And free means free for everybody. What DBKL intends to do in charging foreigners/tourists and making Malaysian citizens register their MyKad to use the service, simply complicates matters and will incur costs to manage. Datuk Bandar KL tolong pakai otak sikit....can you please just let things be?
