Ethnic cleansing....a euphemism to describe the killing of one race by another, once started will be hard to contain. The emotions it conjures among those involved, on either side, will cause mayhem and destruction of the worst kind. They will not be any neutral party. Everyone will take sides. Emotions will prevail at all times - bringing out the worst in each other...you are either with us or against us. The reason why ethnic cleansing happens is the product of those who want the cleansing to be done to serve their own agenda - usually political. It has happened in India, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, and Malaysia too....and all it takes for it to happen again is politics. Reason and rationale are discarded with impunity. ..and once the killing starts - it will take heaven and hell to stop it.

In India today, the political leadership has chosen to drive a wedge between its citizens - the emphasis is on the differences that separate them, not the ties that should hold them together. The narrative that Indian politicians are condoning, and even encouraging Indians to speak about in the cafés, in offices, and anywhere else Indians gather - only serves the agendas of politicians who are hell-bent on creating mischief and separating the Hindus from the Muslims.

It cannot be denied that Malaysia too is moving lockstep with India on the separation of their own citizen to serve the political agenda of politicians, with one fundamental difference.

In India, their Hindu nationalist prime minister is driving the wedge between the Hindus and the Muslims. In Malaysia, our PMX is doing his level best to hold Malaysians together while it is the Opposition that is driving a wedge between the Malays and the non-Malays...between the Muslims and the non-Muslims. Enough said.
