This is an attempt, albeit a bit concise, to explain the emerging great power conflict between the US and the People’s Republic of China. The speaker details, candidly, how great power politics are locally reinterpreted, conditioned, or at times even contested among the medium and small states across the Indo-Pacific with particular emphasis on the effect such a conflict has on Malaysia. This is indeed, in my opinion, a timely assessment of the power play in the Indo-Pacific with the angle on the Sino-American rivalry.
