I will be 75 in October!

Age confers, upon its recipient, a certain confidence to do the things they want to do. At 75, with probably the exception of my immediate family, no one is more important to me, than myself. Yes really…I, me and myself.

I say this even though I know that we must not think too highly of ourselves lest we are thought of as fools by others. Today, self awareness is within me. Confidence is within me. Such is my belief in myself that it sometimes border on contempt for others who do not meet my expectations. Be they prince or pauper.

But I am getting ahead of myself here…so back up a bit Sein…explain yourself.

When you are 75, you constantly ask yourself if you will reach 80. Are you healthy? Yes. Any major medical disasters looming ahead? No. Are your kidneys, heart, eyesight, limbs all in good order? Yes. Eating and sleeping well? Yes. Can you still walk, drive and take yourself anywhere you want to go on your own steam? Yes. So all is well? Yes!

Now ask yourself…how many of your peers, friends or even people that you know, are 80? Oh my…cannot count them on the fingers of my hands. Not many. So then you ask yourself….will I get to 80? At best, you tell yourself…maybe. So at best, you may or may not have, five more years of blogging and having the short blacks that you have in the mornings, to keep you blogging. And when you have been blogging for well over a decade, five years is not much, kan?

So that, my friend, is my frame of mind these days. That is why I am always looking after number one…me….these days. If I do not want to do anything. I don't. I do not suffer fools at all. And I will be damm if I can even think of allowing anyone into my life if they do not make my life better!
