If PDRM cannot look after one of its own, how can it take care of others?

Ayob said at a forum on Thursday that “certain quarters” were looking to bring him and Dang Wangi police chief Noor Dellhan Tahaya, down by tarnishing their reputation through slander. He did not say what accusations had been made internally but said he would stand his ground in the face of investigations.

Comments:

Ayob is the Deputy Inspector General of Police - he is next in line to the top job in PDRM. What need is there for Ayob to make these kinds of comments in the public domain? Would it not be more prudent and correct for PDRM to handle these kinds of issues internally far away from the prying eyes of those who are seeking to do Ayob and PDRM harm? Or is Ayob telling us that PDRM cannot manage these kinds of situations where its very own people are being threatened by slander or even physical harm? For surely if they cannot manage a situation involving one of their own, how are they able to take care of the safety and security of the public?
