Johor PRN. Another Umno killing fields?

First it was Malacca.

WIll the Johor PRN be a repeat of what had happened in Malacca? Will Johor seal the fate of Abah?

Will Johor consign PKR/DSAI and PAS to irrelevance if they do not win a single seat? And further weaken DAP if it loses more seats to BN?

Yes, all this and more, I think, will happen. There is even talk that Mahiaddin may not even throw his electoral hat into the PRN ring less a failure to win a single seat in Johor will humiliates him beyond redemption.

The best that the opposition can hope for is simply this : that an overwhelming victory in Johor will lull an all conquering Umno/BN into a false sense of security. That BN will then lower their guard and rest on the laurels of two overwhelming state electoral victories and by so doing, give hope, false hope maybe, but nevertheless hope, that all is not lost yet for the opposition if they can get their act together.

But can they? Can the opposition regroup, renew the old PH without the traitors and start their march towards Pautrajaya before it is too late?

I despair that they can do so.

There is none of that “INI KALI’ spirit in the air! Each of the PH component entities are lost in its own bickering and internal squabbles that only serves the Umno/BN caucus. PH lacks clarity in its leadership structure. It lacks a leader and most debilitating of all, PH does not inspire any sense of urgency and hope within us that the much needed electoral victory in the coming PRU15 is possible. Zich. Zero. Kosong. Nobody is talking about the opposition taking government in Putrajaya dalam masa terdekat. At best we are hoping that BN will somehow stumble and fall upon its own sword of corruption, greed, arrogance and hubris - not that PH will win at PRU15!

Nobody I know in Melbourne are making plans to go back, at their own expense, and vote at PRU15, to give another vote for PH! No blogger I know talks to me about working together towards a PH electoral victory! How can we when we are today witnessing the continued decline and self inflicted harm that PH is inflicting upon itself. That decline started with the signing of that self serving MOU between PH and Ismail Sabri…you know the one that gave the leader of the opposition Ministerial Status! Huh…these days anyone can get Ministerial status!

In Malacca the Chinese did not come out to vote for PH! Really? It is hard enough to take the Malay votes away from Umno…can you imagine what will happen to PH if this continues in Johor and elsewhere because the Chinese wants to protest PH inability to do what is right for all Malaysians? PH without the Malay votes is already in trouble. Without the Chinese votes they might as well bungkus tikar and balek kampong. Itu belum lagi tau what will happen if the Indians decides to do another Makkal Sakti “thing” to champion their singular ethnic diaspora and who knows where they will take their considerable political clout to?

All this you and I can see. How come all this the PH leadership has so far failed to see? PKR has still failed to bring back Rafizi and Nurrul nor have they started the process of internal cleansing of its own riff raffs within the party! DAP? They have yet to harness the restlessness of its youth who, in my mind, rightly wants the DAP leadership to take cognisance of what the young can, will and should do in PRU15! Amanah is ready and willing to do its part within PH but are still blur on who should lead the PH coalition. And of course there is still the others that needs to be co opted into the PH coalition before PH can rightly claim to be a credible opponent to Umno/BN...Pejuang, MUDA and those brothers and sisters of ours in Sarawak and Sabah!

But I know what I write here falls on the deaf ears of those that really can decide the fate of PH. The PH coalition of the unwilling lacks cohesion and a shared belief that together they are stronger and that together they can and will take back our Tanah Air. Until they can do that, we the electorates will see another state PRN, this time Johor, be another “Malacca” for BN.
