Lies, Damned Lies, Statistics and then there is the Merdeka Centre Polls!

These days, everyone has an opinion but if you want to know the truth, ask your Grab driver or your Barber. They meet people every day and they listen. Coke or Pepsi? Mc McDonald's or Ramly Burger? They have heard it all. And when you ask your Grab Driver or Barber who people are going to vote for in the next general elections, you can be sure that what they tell you will be the truth and nothing but the truth

When there is no Grab Driver or Barber around to tell you how your PMX is doing... who you are going to ask? Merdeka Centre lah!

The approval rating of a leader is what you think of them. Ronald Reagan, judged by many Americans as an outstanding president, highest approval rating was 73%. President Kennedy averaged a 70.1 % approval rating. Donald Trump at his worst was 34%. Any which way you want to take it, political leaders cannot and will not ignore their political ratings. For sure these polls are never accurate but they can give us an indication of how things are.

Back in February 2023, a Merdeka Centre survey told us that PMX's approval rating was almost 70%.

Today PMX's approval rating is at 50%. Make what you want of it. Look at it every which way you want to, but a fall of 18% in PMX's approval rating is not good. Enough said.
