MAKE MALAYSIA GREAT AGAIN....CAN WE?

Updated: Dec 8, 2022

Isabel - Malay, Bugis, Greek, Irish & 100% Malaysian.

We need to bring her and other Malaysians home!

It would seem to me that the whole country is celebrating. Euphoria abounds....not only are the rakyat celebrating, but those who are supporters of PH are also celebrating. Those appointed to the Cabinet are celebrating. Zahid Hamidi, Fadillah and DSAI are celebrating. The King and his brother rulers are celebrating. The nation is on a high...dari Perlis sampan lah ka Sabah kita sudah berjaya!

But what are we celebrating? What is the euphoria all about?

Is it because DSAI is the prime minister? That we now have two DPMs? That there are in Cabinet young, multi-racial, a multi-party mix of Ministers that promise a new dawn of open politics, a responsible government, and that most refreshing of change...new ideas, new vigor, and vim over the corrupt, arrogant, and self-centered government of PN and BN?

Yes, we have much to be grateful for, and we have much to look forward to. Expectations are high that all the cakap akan di kotakan. That, unlike PRU14, all the promises made during the PRU15 campaign will be honored. That the "we did not expect to win" excuse made by PH in PRU15 will not be used again to excuse any lapse or any inability to fulfilled promises made by PH politicians if elected to office.

The time for doing is upon them. We are watching you....do!

So far, DSAI has failed us. So far, DSAI has exceeded our expectations.

How so?

He has failed us by appointing to Cabinet, people he should not. He has failed us by going on a witch hunt...however limited...against those who he thinks have wronged him and PH before PRU15. DSAI has not brought down the price of petrol (I know lah this is an old promise, but he did say he would do it once!). DSAI has not got on with the work of government and left the investigations of wrongdoings by past politicians and past government, to the relevant authorities.

BUT....DSAI has exceeded our expectations more than he has failed us. Every day he announces the things he has done. The things his government will do and what Cabinet has done and that list of "to do" things that are simply breathtaking and a breath of fresh air after what we have seen the treasonous Muhyiddin and the blur IsmaiI Sabri did during their tenure as PM.

With just a phone call, DSAI secured for the Persawah, RM$10 million in December, and RM$60 million next year. All this money is to help the Persawah live life a little bit better...and of course, I must not mention what it would do in terms of getting these farmers to vote for DSAI in the next election...so I will not mention that! Nudge nudge wink wink.

DSAI has done more in one week of government than what Ismail Sabri has done in months of government...so it seems.

Let the rakyat celebrate. Let the ministers appointed to the Cabinet celebrate. Let DSAI continue to receive all the good wishes of world leaders and visits by Sultan Brunei and others...all wanting to tell DSAI that they share his joy of being appointed PM and that they wish him well....and let all the celebrations go on for a few more days, but let us put a time frame to the celebrations. This weekend maybe? And then we want them all to roll up their sleeves and get on with the work of making Malaysia great again.

MAKE MALAYSIA GREAT AGAIN.

BUT... do not forget the danger that lurks just beneath the surface out there across the length and breadth of Malaysia. Out there among the Malays and Muslims! Out there simmering just below the surface of our society lies the most dangerous of all dangers...that most toxic of all our fears - that of what harm bigoted beliefs in race and religion can do to all of us...to our Malaysia!

Maybe lurking and simmering under the surface is not the right word to use...race and religion have already won for PAS the largest number of seats in the parliament of any one political party in Malaysia.

Race and religion have rightly given PN at least a tilt at doing government - as much as PH also has a tilt at doing government - for the truth are simply this - PN and PH both had a claim to do government after PRU15.

That it was PH that finally was given the responsibility of doing Government is because BN and the Royals got together with PH to do what is best for Malaysia and Malaysians - eschew the dangers of a race and religiously driven politics for that of a PH led Unity Government that is more suited to a multi-racial community such as ours. But ..it could have gone either PH or PN way.

But even as it has gone PH way, the danger has not passed. Yesterday PN Datuk Azman Nasruddin won the Padang Serai ward in Kedah by a commanding 16,260 vote majority, the biggest recorded in the ward since 1995.
Yesterday, PH won at Tioman dengan majority yang tipis...573 votes.
So the momentum of a race and religion that is now with PN has not abated - it will only continue to grow. Kita mesti berjaga jaga.....

Langkah Sheraton Dua? LSD?

LSD is already a work in progress. I have already received overtures from friends and persons unknown, telling me what I should now do in order to NOT have Langkah Sheraton Dua!

And what they suggest I do will surely end in us having Langkah Sheraton Dua!

What do they want me do? Huh...no need for me to say any more lah...you know and I know lah. They tell me to ask DSAI why is Zahid DPM? Why is Zafrul a Minister...you get my drift? Be mischievous, and create unrest and mayhem among Malaysians. Of course, this, I will never do!

So let us all be wary of those who, even as we speak, sedang merancang Langkah Sheraton Dua - maybe to be activated at the vote of confidence in parliament on the 19th December , maybe later. This danger is real, and it is there lurking under the surface waiting for an opportune time to rear its ugly head. Berjaga jaga!

BUT let us also not forget that the millions that have voted to give PAS the most number of seats for any one party.....let us not forget that they are also, like you and me, Malaysians!

Would it not be better that we reconcile our difference, understand each other's druthers and look for ways and means to work together towards making Malaysia a place for every Malaysian?

It should be the responsibility of this PH Unity government to look into how these millions have become who they are today - people who believe that race and religion should rule our lives.

If it is just beliefs...how have these beliefs been formulated? Over years or decades? Is it because of our education policies that allow Malaysians to be indoctrinated overseas or anywhere else to make them into the very people who are now Pas supporters?

What has coalesced these people into the hundreds and thousands of young people who have become loyal soldiers to make PAS into what it is today - a party that has the highest number of seats in parliament? How was this achieved? If it was money...where did that money come from.

All this we need to know rather than fan any mindless dislike or even hatred for these PAS followers among others who are not with PAS. This PH unity government must manage these people in a constructive manner. Remember...they are also Malaysians. We are all Malaysian. Enough said.
