MALAY MUSLIM vs MALAY MUSLIM

If what it takes to stop the Umno-led BN from taking government in PRU15 is an Opposition Malay Muslim Coalition, what will you say to that? An Opposition Malay Muslim Coalition that will see old foes, and old friends come together to battle Umno for Putrajaya! What do you think of that?

I am sure for many, it would be an inconvenient alliance of race and religion that is only tolerated because the ends justify the means. Surely, the threat of an Umno political hegemony for the next decade presents a bigger threat to Malaysia and Malaysians than the threat of a further divide among Malaysians along religious and racial lines that any other Malay-Muslim Coalition may trigger.

A decent and responsible religious and racial coalition from the Opposition against a corrupt and arrogant religious and racial Umno is surely more bearable. Surely more manageable? Surely more desired?

Give that some thought friends for I think if a grand coalition of all the opposition is not possible under PH, then surely the next best thing to go against the Malay Muslim Umno led BN must surely be another credible Malay Muslim political entity kan?

Be as it may, these are issues beyond our means to make happen or prevent.

These thoughts came to me in the early hours of this morning as I lay in between consciousness and sleep, trying to draw from the deep recess of my mind, the alternative to a further decade of a Malay Muslim Umno hegemony over us all.

For now, PH seems to be surging forward towards Putrajaya, but in the end, when the Malay Muslim diaspora is asked to cast their votes, will the PH promise of a multi-racial, multinational government be enough to make the Malays and the Muslims choose PH over Umno?

I think not.

The Malays and Muslims in Malaysia will demand a Malay Muslim-led entity to represent their interests. For now, only Umno touts itself as their champion ....unless.. .unless Hadi, Muhyiddin, and Tun Mahathir, with or without Anwar Ibrahim, can announce a credible Malay Muslim coalition alternative to Umno before polling day.

Those are the realities...and if we are to be truthful to ourselves...and if ABU, (Anything But Umno), is to be our battle cry, then surely the least we can do is to wish for a United Malay Muslim coalition other than Umno, to emerge in time to give Umno a run for its money on 19th November this year...monsoon or no monsoon!

I know these are not pleasant thoughts to contemplate for any of us, but them are the realities. As they would instruct us when the plane is about to crash...BRACE BRACE BRACE....we must all also brace ourselves for what is to come.

If we need to cast our votes for a Malay Muslim Coalition other than Umno to save ourselves, to save our nation, and to save our future from catastrophe, we must hope that it will be a Malay Muslim Coalition that comprises of good, decent, and responsible Malay Muslim leaders that will put the interest of the rakyat, before everything else....or is that an impossibility?

I do not have an answer whether that is possible or not, but they are the realities in the dog-eat-dog world that we Malaysian are now living in. Enough said.
