POSITIVE DRUG TEST ON DAP STATE ASSEMBLYMAN.

Ahhh...another Lawmaker caught in compromising circumstances. Another State Assemblyman (this time from DAP) arrested because he tested positive for drug. The DAP State Assemblyman says that he did not take any illegal substance. The DAP member says he was shocked when told that his urine tested positive as he does not even smoke. And that he subsequently found out the following day that while he was in the toilet someone also had come to his table and topped up his drinking glass...and by inference he is accusing that someone of spiking his drink.

The accused is Terrance Naidu the Pasir Bedamar two term state assemblyman.

How long are these politikus going to keep telling us these cock and bull tales? It insults our intelligence that a Law Maker would think us gullible enough to believe that a positive drug test by PDRM does not make him guilty as hell. He deserves to be shown the exit by DAP - the sooner the better.

MEDIA STATEMENT

Having been in politics for as long as I have and being a 2nd term elected state assemblyman, I am well aware of the responsibilities and that one of these is the adherence to law. 'Justice must not only be done, but must also be seen to be done” has always been a stand that I take.

As reported in media, I am the State Assemblyman that was recently arrested by Penang Police in Perai.

I can understand the disappointment that those around me may feel stemming from this latest incident which I was reported to have been arrested for testing positive for drugs.

In my caution statement to the police I had stated the following :-

1 - I was invited to meet friends (who are as a matter of fact Also clients) for a cny dinner meet-up in Penang.

2- upon reaching Prai I was taken to the location of my arrest

3- I was hesitant to enter the premises at first but eventually did so.

4- I did not take any illegal substance

5- I was shocked when I was told my urine tested positive as I don’t even smoke

6- I was poured an unusual drink which I didn’t consume after tasting

7- I subsequently found out the following day that while I was in the toilet someone also had come to my table and topped up my drinking glass.

As a result of this incident, I have on 14/1/2022 immediately upon being released, made a police report stating I was exposed to suspicious elements and naming an eye witness to this act. The eye witness has given a police statement confirming This incident. I have asked the police to investigate the above and the public to assess my above statement given to the police and come to their own conclusion.

I intend to defend myself nevertheless to prove my innocence.

Needless to say, many have jumped to the conclusion that I must be guilty.

Nothing has changed, and I shall carry out my duties to my electorate and will stand by my position that drugs have and will always be a social issue, while continuing the fight against this.

I thank The party leadership for their support and trust in me. With regards DAP perak’s stand to give an explaination that Is being complied with.

As a responsible assemblyman elected under my party banner, I also stand ready to protect it from harm and willl readily submit myself to be SUSPENDED so as not to drag my party into this case.

To my supporters who know me in and out, especially the people of Pasir Bedamar, I apologise wholeheartedly for putting myself in the position of being compromised.

Setelah begitu lama terlibat dalam dunia politik, dan setelah dua penggal dilantik sebagai Adun, saya amat menyedari tanggungjawab seorang wakil rakyat, yang salah satunya untuk mematuhi undang-undang. “Keadilan bukan sahaja perlu dilaksanakan, malah perlu nampak sebagai terlaksana”. Itu lah pendirian saya selama ini.

Sepertimana yang dilaporkan media, sayalah Adun yang baru-baru ini ditahan oleh pihak polis di Perai.

Saya faham kekecewaan mereka di sekeliling saya yang berpunca daripada insiden terbaru ini, di mana saya dilaporkan ditahan kerana didapati positif dadah.

Dalam kenyataan beramaran saya kepada pihak polis, saya telah menyatakan:

1 - Saya diundang bertemu kawan-kawan (yang juga sebenarnya klien) untuk perjumpaan dan makan Tahun Baru Cina Di Pulau Pinang.

2 - Apabila tiba di Perai, saya dibawa ke lokasi di mana saya akan kemudiannya ditahan

3 - Saya teragak-agak untuk masuk ke premis terbabit, namun akhirnya masuk.

4 - Saya tidak mengambil sebarang bentuk bahan terlarang

5 - Saya terkejut ketika dimaklumkan bahawa ujian air kencing saya positif, kerana saya ini merokok pun tidak

6 - Saya dihidangkan minuman yang ‘aneh’. Saya tidak meminumnya selepas merasa sedikit

7 - Saya kemudiannya dimaklumkan keesokan harinya bahawa ketika saya ke tandas, seseorang telah datang ke meja dan mengisi gelas minuman saya

Ekoran insiden ini, pada 14 Januari 2022 sebaik sahaja dibebaskan, saya telah membuat laporan polis menyatakan bahawa saya terdedah kepada anasir yang mencurigakan dan telah menamakan saksi terhadap kejadian terbabit. Saksi tersebut telah pun memberi kenyataan kepada polis dan mengesahkan apa yang telah dia lihat. Berikutan dengan ini Saya telah memohon pihak polis untuk menyiasat perkara tersebut dan orang ramai boleh menilai kenyataan beramaran saya kepada pihak polis dan membuat kesimpulan mereka sendiri.

Walau bagaimanapun, saya akan mempertahankan diri untuk membuktikan bahawa saya tidak bersalah.

Pun begitu, ramai yang telah membuat keputusan bahawa saya semestinya bersalah.

Tiada apa yang berubah, dan saya akan terus menjalankan tanggungjawab terhadap pengundi saya serta tetap berpendirian bahawa dadah adalah permasalahan sosial dan akan terus berjuang menentangnya.

Saya berterima kasih kepada kepimpinan parti atas sokongan dan kepercayaan mereka kepada saya. Berkenaan dengan pendirian DAP Perak menuntut saya memberi penjelasan dan saya patuhi.

Sebagai Adun yang bertanggungjawab dan dilantik di bawah bendera parti, saya juga bersedia untuk melindunginya daripada sebarang masalah dan bersedia untuk digantung keahlian, supaya pihak parti tidak terheret sama dalam kes ini.

Buat para penyokong yang mengenali saya secara peribadi, terutamanya penduduk Pasir Bedamar, saya dengan rendah hati memohon maaf kerana meletakkan diri dalam posisi yang berbahaya.
