Siapa nak jadi PM? Angkat tangan!

If there is anything to be learned from the lessons of history and politics in Bolehland it is simply this...go back to the history of the "wannabes prime minister" of Malaysia. From Tengku Razali, Musa Hitam, Ghafar Baba, Anwar Ibrahim, Zahid Hamidi - and these are the anointed ones and the ones we all thought would most likely be prime minister... none of them did become prime minister at the time when we thought they would be prime minister.

And then at PRU14, the idea that a 94-year-old Mahathir can be PM was more a fantasy than reality then. But he did become PM.

Nobody thought that Muhyiddin or Ismail Sabri would ever be PM during what was supposed to be Mahathir's tenure as PM. At best, we thought, somewhere along the line, Anwar would take over as PM. And remember there was even talk about that PM in waiting - Azmin Ali. All that was not meant to be.

So what does that say about the present?

There are so many wannabe PMs kan? Anwar, Zahid, Mahathir, Ismail Sabri, Ibrahim Ali, and now it seems that even KJ has joined the list of wannabe PMs! And we have not even considered what Sabah and Sarawak would want.

Do not be surprised if none of the above will actually become PM.

Maybe we should not be talking about who wants to be our PM. Maybe what we should be talking about what kind of person we want our PM to be. Think about that.

I have had enough of listening to people telling me they want to be PM and I have had enough of people telling me who they want to be PM. I think if history has taught us anything about who will be the next PM in Malaysia...it will not be Mahathir, Anwar, or Zahid. What about Ismail Sabri? Well...he is already the PM kan? So...maybe he does not want to be PM...he just wants to continue to be PM.

If truth be told, I would think that our next PM is.....drum roll..... someone from Sabah or Sarawak? Or from DAP? Or heavens forbid...from PAS? Mustahil? Did any of thought, that after PRU14, Muhyiddin or Ismail Sabri would be PM? I rest my case.
