We Know What Happened in Malacca & Johor. We Also Know What Happened at PRU14! Enough Said!

Selamat Pag Malaysia. What will it take to bring the Convicted Felon to his knees, begging for mercy, not to be thrown into jail?

Maybe when his second and final appeal fails! When the jail door slams shut behind him with a finality that will make him understand that in the morning after, he will awake in unfamiliar surroundings - within the four walls of a cell that will be his home for many years to come.

But given the political happenings in Malaysia today, to many, seeing the Convicted Felon in jail, still seems to be the stuff of dreams.

Maybe, sometime in the near future, a Malaysian government has to seriously consider the need to do a deal with Jho Low so that he will turn State Witness and tell all that needs to be told about his dealings with the Convicted Felon before, during and after the fact : what fact? 1MDB of course. But this is not even a work in progress, and so the Convicted Felon and Jho Low still roam the face of this earth with impunity.

For now, the Convicted Felon is free to enjoy his ill-gotten gains. Free to plot, scheme and, buy his way out of his conviction. I am too much of a realist to doubt his ability to have his way in these endeavors, but I hold one truth close to my heart : Common sense will prevail.

We must hold on to that unshakable maxim that in the end, good will prevail over evil.

What you see now, being played before our very eyes, is the final tragedy of a man call Najib Razak. This feudal juvenile, from an impeachable lineage, had stolen vast sums of money from our national coffers during his time in public office. He has been caught with his hands in the cookie jar. He is using that stolen vast amount of cash to try and stay out of jail. He is aided and abetted in this unsavory deed, shamefully, by Umno. An Umno willing to be persuaded that the Convicted Felon is not guilty.

And so today, this Convicted Felon and Umno are in cahoots to take control of our nation : State Capture. A small corrupt group within Umno wants PRU15 soonest. Their plan? For Umno to win Government at PRU15, and from there, appropriate government decision-making in order to free themselves of any criminal conviction or charges that they are now facing and then go on to strengthen their political and economic positions and continue with their kleptocratic ways to our detriment.

They have flexed their muscles with Umno’s electoral victories in Malacca and Johor. The recent Umno general assembly only served to confirm their control over all things Umno. Umno's party elections, past due, are again being delayed to serve the purpose of the Convicted Felon and the Umno Court Cluster.

What is next? PRU15 for sure - to be held at the earliest opportunity. Perhaps August 2022.

But wait…..does this mean that the Umno led BN now controlled by the Convicted Felon and the Umno Court Cluster will have things their way with OUR country and us?

I think not! Remember what I said earlier : I hold one truth close to my heart : common sense will prevail.

We must not forget what we did at PRU14. Then, even with PDRM and the Armed Forces at their beck and call. Even with the government doing their every whim and fancies. Even with that massive, well oiled and well finance electoral machinery that is able to penetrate every nook and cranny of our beloved nation. Even with promises of BRIM and with all the other advantages that an incumbent prime minister and his government can muster : even with all this, a rag tag group of opposition parties, united in purpose under Pakatan Harapan, convincingly won PRU14 over Barisan Nasional.

Real political power does not lie in who has control in parliament, and who has control over government and all its functionaries. Real political power is not going up North in a convoy of fifty cars. Real political power is not a Convicted Felon being able to stay the execution of his sentence to lead BN in the PRN for Malacca and Johor. Real political power is not a Sultan insisting upon the appointment of his own choice as Mentri Besar. These are fleeting semblance of superficial political power.

Real political power resides in you and me. This was clearly evident at PRU14.

Today you are seeing it again in Malacca and Johor. For sure BN won - but they did not win the popular vote. The majority of Malaysians stayed away from the state polls because they knew their votes would not make a difference as to who does government in Putrajaya.

All this will change at PRU15.

The Opposition must give the public a choice between BN and a credible Opposition. Give the public a choice between having Ismail Sabri as prime minister or a credible leader from within the ranks of the Opposition to take his place as prime minister.

When it is time to make these choices, and they are credible alternatives for the public to choose from…who do you think the Rakyat will choose? When the Rakyat turn up en masse to vote, it will be the death knell for the Umno led BN. I know this. You know this, and the Umno led BN know this too.

So they won Malacca. So they won Johor and are in total control of Umno, but, they also know what happened at PRu14. Enough said.
