WHAT OF THE ROYALS? WHO CAN & WILL DISCUSS THEM? I CAN & I WILL!

Our failures have been many. We have been complicit in the failures of our nation for we were not ready for the challenges ahead. 2022 the year that we are in now, was once, at the beginning of this century, decades away. It is now the present.

On the last day of the past century, I was alone in a unit at Bangsar Permai in Jalan Tandok. My dear wife and our children were in Adelaide. I had made a decision to go back to Australia and had sent them back ahead of me. I had given up on my country of birth. Australia, then and now, offered me more than what Malaysia could.

Social conscience, social responsibility. the welfare and well beings of fellow Malaysians were then, no concern of mine. The abuse and use of political power for personal gains? I was in the thick of it all. There was only me, me and me. Time, self awareness and the gradual realisation that we should all be our brother’s keeper, started me blogging over a decade ago.

It is different for me today. I have joined many others in the fight to take back our country from corrupt politicians. It is a work in progress.

That was how my morning started today.

By any measure you care to use, our country is in a mess. There is corruption at the highest level of government. The tenuous bond between the Royals and the Malays are fraying. Any hope for change in PRU15 is at best, an exercise in futility.

A PN/BN government driven by the needs of a corrupt few within them, need to retain/obtain political power. For only with political power can their judicial, financial and personal issues be resolved.

And the poster boy for this is none other that the previous president ex PM and now convicted felon, Kepit Man. His problems and the problem of others of his genre in the PN/BN government need a political solution for all judicial solution are about to be exhausted.

Let us talk, discuss and debate the matters that really matters to us. Political matters are already the staple of a public demanding to know the unvarnished truth of a government gone rogue. But what of the Royals? Who can and will discuss them?

I can, and I will.

I want to start an open discussion on the need to have, or not to have, Sultans, their First, Second, Third and Fourth wives, their mistresses, their legitimate and illegitimate offsprings, their kerabat near and far, and any one else directly, indirectly or even remotely connected to these Royals for their living. All of them, in one way or another, are being bank rolled by the Rakyat. The money to keep them fed, clothed and with a roof over their head - whether it be an Istana or an attap house in the kampong hut for their hangers on….all the money comes from the public purse. These people do not generate their own income. They cost our nation hundred of millions, if not billions annually.

In the coming days let us ask ourselves if there is need to spend billions on the royals. Share your thoughts, comments and ‘considered opinion’. We will debate and discuss if we should or we should not, keep the Royals in clover past this decade!
