You take care of yourselves, we take care of ourselves.

Selamat Pagi Malaysia.

Now that I am 63, and having lived through these cultures, I must say that the old Malays had more respect and reverence for Islam. Being a Muslim in the old days was part of the community meaning we all sat, ate, played together - Malays, Chinese, Indians from all religions Muslim, Christians, Buddhist, Hindus and even Jews.

We helped each other at each other's kenduri, festivals and weddings.

In the old days, there were no big restaurants. If there were floods, all the parents, kids from all races were together helping each other out.

There were no media, parades, monetary incentives. Religion was one's own, but respected by all. When Magrib prayers was announced, non Muslims parents would ask the Malay kids to head home.

Now under Umno Baru and PAS whose preoccupation of making the Malay and Muslim seem superior, the unity among the many races have been destroyed. Now it is you take care of yourself, we take of ourselves.

It has got worse, where they need religious police to carry surveillance on their own Muslims. Malays distrust Malays.

This is a classic case of Malay political greed to stay in power, to divide and rule. They need to keep the Malays ignorant and in fear to control them so that the political elite remains in power and controls the wealth.

The Malay may have access to more education, but are less educated and have not advance much in the world in terms of knowledge.
